policies & frequently asked questions

1. I will contact you to confirm the painting, discuss details, and collect the deposit.

2.  We will discuss general layout with a very rough mockup (usually the photo cropped to fit the painting size).

3. When approved, I will sketch the image on the board and begin to paint. At this point the deposit is nonrefundable.

4. When done, I will send a photo of the painting to you. If you would like any minor changes, this is the time to let me know! Major changes or complete re-draws may be subject to a fee.

5. I seal the painting, sign the painting, and then it goes home with you! (Preparing to ship may take an additional 1-2 business days).

If I have a question about the painting or how to continue, and you do not respond within 3 days, I will do what I think looks best.

For all options other than payment up front, please contact me directly and I will send you an invoice!

This is where you pay a deposit (50% of total balance) up front and the remainder is due upon paintings being completed.

The deposit must be paid prior to the paintings being shipped. Only orders above $75 qualify for a deposit - orders less than $75 must pay full balance upon ordering.

If commission is canceled by you after I have started painting, deposit is nonrefundable. If I have not started the painting, the deposit is refundable. If the commission is canceled by me, the deposit is refundable.

If you paid 100% up front and need to cancel, your payment is 100% refundable if I have not yet begun the painting and 50% refundable if the painting has begun.

For any reason, I reserve the right to cancel any commission I do not feel comfortable with.

My style is a little painterly and not perfectly photo realistic - I paint this way on purpose. If you want a perfect photo, I cannot paint one.

Paintings are handmade and delicate. Gouache (the paint) and water don’t go well. The painting will be sealed, but nobody is perfect, so please don’t swim with your painting or attempt to clean it with any liquids.
